spcf bio...

Although not born in the UK, Simon PC Frost was raised there through the period when the British Folk Movement gave way to the real inception of English Rock and Roll. Out of this time came such diverse influences as John Renbourn and David Gilmour. From Davy Graham, Martin Carthy and Bert Jansch, through John Martyn to Yes.

This extraordinary melange of styles brought forth a new generation of musicians; one of whom is Simon PC Frost.

From his delicate, conversational and musically lyrical acoustic instrumentals, to his rock compositions or jazz creations, all the original influences shine through with integrity.

Simon PC Frost has played in all styles all over the world, and is currently resident in Phoenix, Arizona, always looking to play something new (or indeed something very old!).

Late in 2015 Simon was approached by rock legend Paul Gurvitz to become part of his band 'The New Army'. This was a really exciting step forward and yet another endorsement of Simon's musical versatility. The New Army began touring April 1st, 2016. Since then they have played in Las Vegas Nevada, California, and of course all over Arizona, even in front of a crowd of nearly 3,000 while opening for REO Speedwagon!

Something to think about...

There are a few things that I feel quite strongly about as a musician. One of these is "what good can my music do?". Below are some links and a little info about a few organisations that I have come to know and love over the years and to whom I proudly give what little assistance that I can - but they all tell me that every little helps.

I passionately encourage you to look in the direction of these causes and give whatever you can afford - time, goods, money. They all perform amazing work domestically and around the world, each providing their own measure of magic, making the world a better place every day in their own incredible way.

The Music For Life Alliance is a 501c(3) tax exempt, not for profit charity that facilitates the efforts of individuals and organizations making music learning accessible to young people who may not otherwise be able to experience the educational, psychological, and social benefits of making music. Through awards, grants and recognition, and by creating and maintaining a national database, the Music For Life Alliance helps support and unify grassroots efforts across the country.

Playing For Change arose from a common belief that music has the power to connect people regardless of their differences. In 2005, a small group of filmmakers set out with a dream to create a film rooted in the music of the streets. Not only has that dream been realized, it has grown into a global sensation that has touched the lives of millions of people around the world. Since then music programs have been created in 11 countries. More than 2,000 young people attend free classes in dance, instruments, musical theory and languages, all taught by qualified local teachers.
